The Fortunate Orphans

On December 16, 1944 more than 200,000 German soldiers in five armored divisions and twelve infantry divisions smashed into American lines in the Ardennes. A majority of the nearly 90,000 U.S. casualties occurred in the first three days of battle as the Germans poured through the shattered defenses. What became known as the Battle of the Bulge was the single bloodiest combat the American Army fought during WWII.

Soldiers and civilians alike suffered grievously at the hands of the infamous Waffen SS during their murderous thrust into Belgium and Luxembourg. In the end the Americans prevailed and the Germans were forced to retreat, leaving behind nearly 85,000 casualties of their own.

The war in Europe would continue for another five months. Now, sixty-five years later, four American soldiers who survived a massacre ordered by a fanatical SS officer return to Europe seeking revenge. What began as a mission for final justice turns into a cat and mouse game with deadly consequences none of them anticipated.
